Day 1 :

Day 1 : Arrival Nairobi

Depending on your flight, you'll arrive in Nairobi in the course of the day. Upon arrival at the international airport, there are several options for withdrawing money. Bringing local currency from your country is not necessarily essential. After you've withdrawn money, you'll meet our local colleague for your transfer to the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi. Once you've checked in, your luggage will be taken to your room, and you'll have your first "African" overnight stay at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel.

Day 2 :

Day 2 : Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve

The start of your safari adventure begins after a delightful breakfast. You'll be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Samburu, located in the dry north of Kenya. Upon arrival, you'll receive a warm welcome from the driver/guide of Sarova Shaba Game Lodge. As you embark on a game drive, you'll notice the climate is much warmer, and the landscape is drier, characterized by small rocky hills covered with acacia trees and dry shrubs. This is the habitat of unique species that you'll mostly encounter in the northern part of Kenya. You'll find the rare Grevy's zebra, gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich, making this park an absolute must-visit. It boasts unique flora and fauna. Around lunchtime, you'll arrive at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge, where you'll spend two nights in charming cottages decorated in African style. These cottages feature en-suite bathrooms and verandas overlooking the Uaso Nyiro River. After lunch, you'll have time to enjoy this lovely location or relax by the pool. In the afternoon, you'll head out on a game drive in this beautiful park, one of the most scenic in Kenya. You'll dine under the open sky, with temperatures ranging between 20-35 degrees Celsius!

Day 3 :

Day 3 : Samburu – Buffalo Springs Reserve

Today, you'll rise early and set out after a cup of coffee/tea to try your luck during a morning game drive. Long game drives are not common in this park because the wildlife seeks shade during the hottest part of the day. In the mornings, you'll witness large herds of elephants trekking to the river for food and their daily bathing ritual. It's a magnificent sight, especially as the smaller elephants enjoy their time in the water. In addition to giraffes, zebras, and antelopes, searching for the 'Big Cats'—lions and leopards—will also be at the top of your list. These felines are often active in the early morning! After the game drive, you'll return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast. As the animals seek shelter in the shade, you'll have time to cool off by the pool until the afternoon game drive. The softer light during this time of day often provides the best opportunity for capturing stunning photos. As the sun sets, you'll return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay at the Sarova Shaba Game Lodge.

Day 4 :

Day 4 : Samburu – Maasai Mara

After an early game drive and a delightful breakfast, it's time for check-out, followed by your transfer to the airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your driver/guide with a 4WD Landcruiser from your accommodation, and then you'll immediately embark on a game drive. The journey takes you through hills with vast savannahs and water-filled gorges, which is why wildlife loves to inhabit this area. In the Mara, you have the best chance of spotting the 'Big Five': buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant, and rhinoceros. Around lunchtime, you'll arrive at Malaika Camp. You'll stay in comfortable accommodations with en-suite bathrooms and wooden verandas overlooking a bushy gorge along the Mara River. The accommodation boasts a warm African style and can accommodate over twenty guests. There's abundant wildlife in the immediate vicinity. In the afternoon, a game drive is scheduled, provided by the lodge. You'll share your vehicle with other guests staying in the park. As the sun slowly sets, it's time to head back to the lodge to enjoy the sunset with a refreshing drink. Following this, dinner will be served in the beautifully decorated restaurant. You'll spend the night at Malaika Camp.

Day 5 :

Day 5 : Maasai Mara

Today, you have two game drives scheduled—a perfect safari day begins with a good (early) breakfast before setting out with your guide. You'll be treated to the beauty of the Masai Mara, as the game drives take you through hills with vast savannahs and deep, water-filled gorges. The presence of water is the main reason why wildlife loves to inhabit this area. In the Masai Mara, you have the best chance of spotting the 'Big Five': buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant, and rhinoceros. With the expert guidance of your guide, you have a good chance of witnessing enormous herds of the great migration. This annual trek of thousands of wildebeest and zebras between the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya is a sight to behold. With a bit of luck, you may find yourself surrounded by hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, providing you with the most beautiful photo opportunities and experiences. Additionally, the large herds attract a multitude of other species, including predators. At the end of the day, as the sun slowly sets, it's time to return to your accommodation and reminisce about a day filled with adventures. Dinner and overnight stay at Malaika Camp.

Day 6 :

Day 6 : Maasai Mara - Nairobi

After an early breakfast, you'll embark on a game drive—it's the best time to see the 'Big Cats' in action. By lunchtime, you'll return to the camp. After lunch, it's time to pack your bags and bid farewell to the Malaika team, who have spared no effort in making your stay at the camp an unforgettable experience. Then, you'll check out for your transfer to the Mara Airstrip for your direct flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, depending on your next destination, you'll be taken to a hotel where you'll have the opportunity to freshen up and prepare for your flight. No room is reserved at the hotel, but you can use the shared facilities. In the early evening, you'll be transferred to Nairobi Airport for your flight to your next destination.
