Next, you will journey to Ngare Ndare, a hidden gem with turquoise pool, canopy walk and an abundance of wildlife. Here, guided by an experienced guide, you can hike through the lush forest and enjoy a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear pools.

You will then travel to Solio, a private reserve known for its abundant population of rhinos and other rare species. As you drive through the vast landscape, you will be amazed by the beautiful vistas and have the opportunity to observe these majestic creatures extensively in their natural habitat.

Day 1 :

Day 1 : Arrival Nairobi

Depending on your flight, you will arrive in Nairobi during the day. Upon arrival at the international airport, there are various options for withdrawing money from ATMs, so it is not necessarily essential to bring local currency from your country. After you have withdrawn money, you will meet our local colleague for a transfer to the Jacaranda Hotel in Nairobi. Once you have checked in, your luggage will be taken to your room, and it's time to relax after your journey. If the bar is still open, you will receive an explanation from our local colleague about the program and the itinerary of your safari while enjoying a drink. Afterward, you will have your first overnight stay at the Jacaranda Hotel.

Day 2 :

Day 2 : Nairobi - Mount Kenya

Rise and shine! After a delightful breakfast, you'll depart Nairobi to kick off your safari with a scenic journey. Along the way, you'll be treated to magnificent vistas and hills adorned with lush tea plantations. If the weather is clear, you might even catch a glimpse of Mount Kenya, Kenya's highest peak, in the distance. Following a densely forested, slippery mountain path, you'll arrive at an elevation of over 2500 meters to find a colonial house with a veranda—the Castle Forest Lodge. It's a unique haven for adventurous souls who appreciate a simple banda experience without electricity, relying on oil lamps, and featuring open wood fires in each cottage for cool evenings. Herds of elephants roaming the hills near your accommodation and in the surrounding forests are not an uncommon sight. On clear days, it feels as if you could reach out and touch the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya! You'll enjoy lunch on the veranda of your accommodation. In the afternoon, a guided walk along crystal-clear streams and waterfalls right behind your lodging awaits. You'll wrap up the day with a hearty meal at the Castle Forest Lodge, where you'll also spend the night.

Day 3 :

Day 3 : Mount Kenya

After breakfast, you'll embark on a full day of hiking on the slopes of Mount Kenya, guided by an experienced guide. A picnic lunch will be provided from the Castle Forest Lodge for the hike. For those who prefer less strenuous activities, fishing gear can be rented to try your luck at catching trout, or you can opt for horseback riding. During the hike, you may encounter monkeys, exotic bird species, and perhaps even antelopes. If you spot fresh elephant or buffalo tracks, no need to worry—your guide knows the area well and exactly what to do! At the end of the day, you'll return to the Castle Forest Lodge, satisfied from the day's adventures. You can enjoy dinner and unwind by a crackling wood fire, sharing stories of the day's experiences.

Day 4 :

Day 4 : Ngare Ndare Forest

After breakfast, you'll drive to Ngare Ndare, an indigenous forest at the foot of Mount Kenya. Here, you'll have the opportunity to stretch your legs with a beautiful hike in this remarkable area. You can also take a refreshing dip in a stunning natural water spring (please note, this involves a challenging hike in hilly terrain of approximately 2 to 3 hours beforehand). During the Canopy Walk, you'll have the chance to walk across 40-meter-high rope bridges, offering fantastic views of the wooded area below. At the end of the hike, you'll reach a platform where you can relax and enjoy the view of the river. Elephants and buffaloes often come here to bathe and drink, providing a memorable wildlife encounter. You can also enjoy the picnic lunches provided. After this extraordinary experience, you'll leisurely drive back to the Rhino Watch Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 :

Day 5 : Solio Game Reserve

Today, you have the choice of three different activities, and it's advised to make your selection in advance. We recommend what we believe to be the most exciting option: a visit to the nearby and lesser-known Solio Game Reserve. In this small yet extraordinary wildlife sanctuary, you'll feel transported back thousands of years in time. It's one of Africa's last remaining reserves where rhinos occur in significant numbers. During a single game drive, you may encounter dozens to hundreds of white rhinos and occasionally even a few black rhinos. Additionally, the park is abundant with birdlife and is home to various big cats. Since the park is only a few minutes' drive from your accommodation, you have the option to split your day in two. You can return to your lodging for a delicious warm meal. For the avid enthusiasts, there's the opportunity to stay in the park with a picnic lunch until you've seen your fill or until sunset. All meals and accommodation will be provided by the Rhino Watch Lodge.

Day 6 :

Day 6 : Solio - Lake Nakuru

After breakfast and check-out, you'll depart from this area and head towards Nakuru. Along the way, you'll witness the landscape changing once again, and by mid-morning, you'll arrive at the remarkable wildlife park near the city of Nakuru. As you embark on a game drive, you'll search for the remaining flamingos (sometimes numbering from hundreds to thousands). You'll also have the chance to spot rhinos, lions, and various other animals that inhabit this area. Around lunchtime, you'll check in at the cozy Lake Nakuru Lodge, where you can immediately enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch, accompanied by your guide, you'll venture out once again into this beautiful wildlife park. You'll search for tree-climbing lions and rhinos, and undoubtedly, you'll encounter other animals residing here as well. As the sun sets, you'll return to the lodge where you can enjoy the magnificent view over the lake and the wildlife park. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 7 :

Day 7 : Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha

Today, you'll once again indulge in the diverse offerings of this remarkable area through a game drive. After breakfast, you'll continue your exploration of this unique park. The park boasts a rich wildlife population, including impalas, buffaloes, waterbucks, and Rothschild's giraffes. With luck, you may even spot the rare Colobus monkey. During the game drive around the lake, you may also have the opportunity to spot the white and black rhinoceros, which receive special protection here. Apart from zebras and antelopes, searching for the 'Big Cats'—lions and leopards—will be at the top of your list. After a picnic lunch, you'll drive to Lake Naivasha. In the late afternoon, as the sun begins to set, you'll explore this vast lake by boat. Lake Naivasha is renowned for its fascinating flora and fauna, particularly the abundant hippos. With a bit of luck, you'll also see numerous water birds, including the African fish eagle. You'll stay at Bilashaka Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 :

Day 8 : Hell's Gate National Park

After breakfast and check-out, you'll embark on an active excursion to Hell’s Gate National Park. Here, you can hike or bike across the plains of this beautiful natural area with captivating views. You'll find yourself amidst zebras, antelopes, and other (harmless) wildlife, with the guide and safari van following at a suitable distance. For the most avid hikers, at the end of the valley near the Central Tower, under the guidance of a local ranger, you can venture into the Njorowa Gorge. You'll walk along a narrow path between steep rock walls to the hot springs—be sure to bring sturdy shoes. Around lunchtime, your guide will take you to a very special location for a delightful high tea/lunch at the Elsamere Conservation Center. This was the former home of Joy Adamson, famous for the book "Born Free" and the film based on it. Her house is situated on the lakeshore, where sizable groups of Colobus monkeys are often spotted. We've chosen this beautiful lunch location because of the delightful way the lodge transports you back in time. As you stroll peacefully through the creaking wooden floors of the museum, the lodge's friendly staff will prepare lunch/high tea for you. You'll feel transported back to the era of early wildlife conservation, gaining a unique insight into how people used to advocate for African wildlife. After lunch, you'll drive back to Nairobi for your return flight to your next destination.
